Scaffolding, Rigging & Rope Access
Industrial Scaffolding, Rigging and Rope Access Across Perth and Western Australia
Almost every maintenance task starts with getting people and equipment safely to the work. IPC Maintenance runs its own licensed scaffolders, riggers, dogmen and rope access technicians, so access is planned as part of the job rather than bolted on afterwards.
We erect and dismantle scaffold for shutdowns, tank and vessel work, structural repairs and cladding; rig and lift plant, steel and equipment; and deploy rope access crews where scaffold is slow, costly or impossible silos, ship loaders, conveyor galleries, stacks and building façades. Because access, lifting and the trade work come from one team, there is no gap between “the scaffold being ready” and “the job starting”.
The Problems We Solve
We eliminate access delays, safety risks and coordination gaps, helping teams complete complex work safely, efficiently and without unnecessary downtime.
Shutdown programs held up unnecessarily waiting for a separate scaffold contractor to arrive, modify or sign off.
Unsafe or non-compliant access to height on live industrial sites, creating serious safety risks and costly project delays.
Heavy or awkward lifts with nobody on site properly licensed to safely sling and direct them during operations.
Structures where scaffold would cost more than the repair itself a rope access crew is often just a fraction of the price.
Handover tags, inspections and scaffold registers that fall through the cracks between contractors.
What We Do / What's Included
We provide integrated scaffolding, rigging and rope access solutions, supporting safe, efficient work from planning through completion.
- Design, erection, modification and dismantling of tube-and-coupler and modular scaffold, including suspended, cantilevered and birdcage configurations.
- Scaffold inspections, handover certificates and scaffold register maintenance for the life of the hire.
- Scaffold hire supply of our own stock for short- and long-term projects.
- Dogging and basic, intermediate and advanced rigging for plant installation, structural steel and removal of failed components.
- Lift planning, lifting-gear inspection and crane coordination.
- Rope access (twin-rope) teams for inspection, repairs, bolting, welding, coatings and cleaning at height.
- Confined-space and at-height rescue planning integrated with the access method.
Australian Standards & Policies We Align With
Access and lifting are high risk construction work, so every job is planned within WA’s WHS framework:
Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) & WHS (General) Regulations 2022 (WA)
Duties for high risk construction work, falls and scaffolding.
WorkSafe WA High Risk Work Licences
Basic, intermediate and advanced scaffolding (SB/SI/SA), dogging (DG) and rigging (RB/RI/RA) matched to each task.
AS/NZS 1576 series (Scaffolding)
Design, components and couplers; AS/NZS 4576 (guidelines for scaffolding) for erection and use.
Code of Practice: Managing the risk of falls at workplaces and Scaffolds and scaffolding work (Safe Work Australia / WorkSafe WA)
AS/NZS 1891 series (Industrial fall-arrest systems and devices)
Harnesses, lanyards and anchorages for at-height work.
AS/NZS 4488 (Industrial rope access systems) and the ARAA Industry Code
Rope access technicians qualified through ARAA and/or IRATA.
AS 2550 series (Cranes, hoists and winches safe use) and lifting-gear standards (AS 1666, AS 3775, AS 4991) for rigging and lifts
Safe Work Method Statements, scaffold handover certificates and rescue plans prepared before work at height begins
Frequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers about our scaffolding, rigging and rope access services, including safety, inspections, certifications, regional coverage and pricing.
Both. IPC holds its own scaffold stock and supplies, erects, inspects and dismantles it, or can erect client-supplied material.
Before first use, after any alteration or event that could affect its stability, and at intervals not exceeding 30 days while it stands, in line with the WHS Regulations and AS/NZS 4576. Inspections are recorded on the scaffold tag and register.
When the work is short-duration, high up or hard to reach - silo walls, ship-loader booms, conveyor gantries, stacks. Set-up takes hours rather than days and leaves a smaller footprint on a live site.
Yes - our technicians work in two-rope systems under a supervising Level 3 technician, certified through the recognised industry scheme.
That's the point of IPC the same crew that rigs the access can weld, bolt, blast, paint, insulate or replace cladding, so you don't pay for two mobilisations.
Dogging plus basic, intermediate or advanced rigging as the lift demands.
Regularly. Our people are inducted to hazardous chemical, LPG/LNG, port, grain and defence sites and plan work around permit-to-work, isolations and exclusion zones.
Yes - tank internals, pipe racks and cable trays are standard. We design around services and confirm load ratings before handover.
Yes. Crews mobilise from Henderson to mine sites, grain terminals and ports across the state, with camp/FIFO arrangements as required.
