Sheet Metal Fabrication

Custom sheet metal fabrication for industrial plant and buildings Henderson workshop, delivered and fitted across Western Australia.

Custom sheet metal fabrication across Perth and Western Australia

Plants are full of things that were never in a catalogue a transition between two mismatched ducts, a hopper that has to fit around existing steel, a guard for a drive that’s been modified twice, a weather hood nobody makes any more. IPC Maintenance’s sheet metal workers cut, fold, roll and weld light-gauge steel, stainless and aluminium into exactly those items, working from your drawing, a rough sketch or the worn original.

Everything is made in our Henderson workshop and, where you want it, delivered and fitted by our own site crews so the measure-up, the fabrication and the installation all sit with one contractor, and there’s nobody to blame if it doesn’t fit.

The Problems We Solve

We solve difficult fabrication challenges with custom-built components, accurate site measurements, practical modifications, replacements and reliable installation support.

Components that are obsolete, discontinued, or were custom-made for your plant thirty years ago and have no replacement.

Off-the-shelf parts that nearly fit and the downtime spent making them work.

Ducting, hoppers and transitions that need to suit what's actually installed rather than what the drawings say.

Suppliers who will fabricate the item but won't come to site to measure it or fit it.

Guards, covers and access panels removed during maintenance and never replaced, leaving an open safety finding.

What we do / What's included

Custom fabrication, reverse engineering, site measurement and installation for ducting, guards, hoppers, covers, stainless components and industrial sheet metal solutions.

Australian standards & policies we align with

Sheet metal fabrication is produced within Australia’s materials, forming and safety framework:

AS 1397 (Continuous hot-dip metallic coated steel sheet and strip) and AS/NZS 1595 (Cold-rolled unalloyed steel sheet and strip)

Certified, traceable base materials.

AS/NZS 4600 (Cold-formed steel structures)

Where formed sheet carries structural load.

AS 4254.2 (Ductwork for air-handling systems in buildings — rigid duct) and AS 1668.2 (Mechanical ventilation in buildings)
 For ducting and ventilation components.
AS 1562.1 (Design and installation of sheet roof and wall cladding - metal)
For flashings, cappings and building sheet work.
AS/NZS 1554.1 and AS/NZS 1554.6 (Structural steel and stainless steel welding) and AS/NZS 1665 (Welding of aluminium structures)
For welded sheet assemblies.
AS 4024.1 series (Safety of machinery)
Guard design, fixing and safe opening distances.
AS/NZS 2312.1 and AS/NZS 4680

Protective coating or galvanising of finished items where specified.

Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) & WHS (General) Regulations 2022 (WA)
plant guarding, manual handling and hot-work controls in the workshop and on site.
ISO 9001 quality system (Bureau Veritas certified)
Drawings, material certificates and inspection records retained for every item

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers covering custom fabrication, materials, site measurement, installation, ducting, machine guards, finishes, turnaround times and quoting support.

Gauge and method. Sheet metal is light material cut, folded and rolled into shape ducting, guards, hoppers, flashings. Fabrication & Modification is heavy structural steel and plate beams, platforms, support frames. If you're not sure which you need, send a photo and we'll tell you.

Yes, and it's most of what we do. Bring us the worn original, a sketch on the back of a work order, or let us come and measure on site — we'll produce a drawing for your approval before anything is cut.
Mild steel, galvanised, Zincalume and Colorbond, stainless steel and aluminium, in the gauges suited to formed sheet work.
Either. Our site crews can measure up, remove the old item and fit the new one — which is usually the point of using us rather than a supply-only shop.
We fabricate stainless benches, splashbacks and enclosures.

Yes - transitions, elbows, hoods and dust-extraction components for industrial applications.

Yes - guards are designed and fixed with AS 4024.1 safe opening distances and fixing requirements in mind, so the item closes out the finding rather than creating a new one.

Deburred and finished as standard, with galvanising, powder coating or protective coating applied to the specification. Our own coatings team handles industrial protective systems in-house.

It depends on material availability and complexity - a simple guard or flashing is quick, a multi-part duct run is not. Call 1300 419 757 and we'll give you a realistic date rather than an optimistic one.

Email a drawing, sketch or photo with dimensions to sales@ipcmaintenance.com.au, or call 1300 419 757. If it's easier, we'll come and measure it.
